A Whopping $12,000+ raised for the heart_foundation_logoHeart Foundation

MTA staff member Greg Carroll recently participated in the inaugural Creek to The Creek, a 30km rowathon hosted by Greg’s club the Brisbane Grammarians to raise funds for the Heart Foundation.

The crew of 9 raised over $12,000 for their efforts.  Grammarians captain Alan Craft said the starting point at Oxley Creek coincided with the start line of the Yarra Time Trial #3, which meant the crew had plenty of company for the first 8.6km.

“It was a warm day and breakfast and drinks were taken on board as we passed GPS shed on our way downstream to Breakfast Creek,” Crafty said.

“Never again will we complain about Citycats in our neck of the woods: the Newstead Reach must be the home of the Citycats. It was quite choppy in the breeze, but the entrance to Breakfast Creek beckoned and we wound our way up to the St Margaret’s shed to complete our epic with a few new blisters but otherwise happy and relatively unscathed.”
